The accommodation comprises:

  • three double bedrooms

The house is centrally heated throughout and mosquito nets are installed to the windows of all bedrooms and bathrooms. There is no air conditioning but this is not necessary as the thick walls keep the house cool in the summer months.

There is internet/Wifi, although the phone signal in the house is poor. Internet/Wifi also available at the local pizzeria only a few minutes away by car.

The Apartment

The apartment is available for rent in June and July.

It was converted from a former stable in 2000 and retains many of the original features, including the wooden manger. It is completely separate from the house at ground floor level with its own private entrance.

Its terrace is shaded by campsis and wisteria. A table and chairs are provided for outdoor eating and relaxing in the summer evenings.

The apartment sleeps 2 and the accommodation consists of:

  • A double bedroom, kitchen/sitting room with open fire and a bathroom with shower.
  • A washing machine, shared with the house, is available in a separate laundry room.
  • Full gas-fired central heating.
  • All windows have anti-mosquito protection.

The Garden

The property stands in a two-acre paradise of land, that includes a herb garden, an orchard, an olive grove of 85 trees, flowers, shrubs, grass and woodland. It looks up the beautiful Cortona valley.

The garden and surrounding area is a haven for butterflies, birds (including nightingales!), fire flies and other wildlife such as porcupines and wild boar. We sometimes see red squirrels and bats in the late evening.

The Swimming Pool

A magnificent SWIMMING POOL installed in 2002 measures 11 x 5.5 metres (36 x 18 feet) with a ledge of one metre (3.3 feet) deep running around the perimeter and with beautiful Greek stone surrounding  the whole pool and is screened by a laurel hedge.

It benefits from 8 hours of sunshine per day and has a shaded area under the trees at the far end of the pool. There is also an outside shower.swimming pool

The Tobacco Tower

There is also a separate converted former tobacco tower with a barbeque table and bench seats. The tobacco tower is an ideal place for a long summer drink as the sun sets over the hills, and a great place to watch stars in the exceptionally clear skies
